    Sicily: an island to explore

A unique land of immense charm: Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.
Holiday in Sicily: in a wonderful and timeless land that leaves visitors breathless with its places that deserve to be visited at least once in a lifetime.

Licata is a town in Sicily, lying on the slopes of ‘Monte of Licata’. Its name derives from the Greek word Alukates, which means ‘salty’ because the Salso river flows into the area. The city is a little open-air jewel waiting to be discovered. Nice to visit are: the Church and Convent of the Carmine, the Church of St. Angelo, which houses rich silverware and the silver urn containing the relics of the city’s patron saint, and the Castle of St. Angelo located on the top of the hill of the same name that dominates the whole town

In addition to the beautiful historic centre, fantastic golden beaches and a splendid sea are the real attraction in Licata. Among the most beautiful beaches is the Baia di Mollarella, a sandy shoreline enclosed between two rocky promontories that shelter it from the local winds. Poliscia Beach, on the other hand, is nestled between the sea and strikingly beautiful cliffs.

    Valley of the Temples

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento is undoubtedly a unique place that tells a story more than two thousand years old. Situated on a plateau not far from the sea, a stone’s throw from the historic centre of Agrigento. The Valley of the Temples is one of the largest and most marvellous vestiges of the ancient world to be found on Italian soil; the masterpieces that can be admired while strolling through the valley will give you unique emotions.

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

    Armerina Square

A small medieval village in the province of Enna situated in the green woods that surround it. Piazza Armerina is famous for its historical and archaeological heritage and is world-renowned for the mosaics of the Villa Romana del Casale. It has a splendid Baroque historical centre, presided over by the imposing cathedral, which occupies the highest position in the city and has the old town centre all around it.
The Villa Romana del Casale, recognised by UNESCO as a ‘World Heritage Site’, is undoubtedly one of the largest and most luxurious villas in the Roman world. His decorative mosaics are exceptional in their artistic quality and creativity.
